This is an insightful article on alistapart and i think that educators should read this and take note. In a fast moving industry we really do need an adaptive and ‘current’ way of teaching for each generation learning our trade.

  • Tools are important - but are always changing.
  • Methods are important - but are always improving
  • Theory is always there and can be applied consistently.

Unfortunately all need to be taught and all need to be learned either through the classroom or experience. I wonder if there are any courses out there for peopel what want to get into the trade that employ the points in this article?

Playing with Faux Absolute Positioning

The trouble with blogging

I have such a problem ‘making’ myself blog, there are a thousand differing things that I should write about or finish but for some reason I never really seem to get around to it. I prompt and promise myself that I will always blog about specific things or events - but for some reason it just never happens.

My current checklist includes.

  1. Project related writings: such as project completion, problems that are overcome or extended technology usage.
  2. Industry events: that I will be attending or hope to attend, what I hope to achieve or what I found at these events.
  3. Other Industry writings: really good examples of sites or articles that I have seen or read and really think that it is important to give them the recognition they deserve.
  4. New gadgets and gizmo’s: that I have purchased or used recently and my experiences with them.

If anyone can think of where Im going wrong here or even point me in the right direction it will be apriciated as I know bloging is not a hobby - its a way fo life.
